(2024)9 inkjet prints
Paper: 240gm² Fomei Cotton Smooth
Size: 32,9 x 48,3 cm each
Yellow Plums Bursting Under the Wheels is the first joint exhibition of Barbora Mikulová and David Mackovič, who mostly work separately, but under one roof. The selected works, combined in diptychs and triptychs, form a series that reflects the constant search, construction and transformation of domestic space and its physical and non-physical forms. Although the individual works were created independently, and without agreement between the artists, recurring motifs of temporary homes, movements and journeys can be recognized in them. A plastic roof, car seat, and a striped seat cushion, a watch that announces the weather forecast. Stretch, twist, lie under the table, scoop up rocks with the backhoe, and sweep up.
